[details] Exciting news for anyone who's seen (or missed) Beth perform as Betty Jean Reynolds in the off-Broadway production of The Marvelous Wonderettes - she'll be reprising the role for Musical Theatre West's production of the show, which is slated to run from 16 Apr through to 2 May 2010. Also, if you're in the LA area on 21 Mar 10 (Sunday), be sure to pop by Sterling Upstairs at Vitello's - Beth is set to perform her cabaret show at 7pm! [details] Beth is part of the cast of an upcoming series of staged readings of Post Office, a new musical with book and lyrics by Melissa James Gibson and music by Michael Friedman. Beth, her co-star Damon Kirsche and director Lewis Wilkenfeld sat down for a podcast interview about Fade Out/Fade In - it's an interesting look into the MTG process of putting up a staged reading of lesser-known theatrical gems. Specifically, Beth talks about the stress involved in taking on such a large role in an MTG production... and gives a vocal demonstration of her views on the score Jule Styne tailored especially for Carol Burnett! [podcast]
Added the recent MTG production of Fade Out/Fade In to Beth's theatre credits, including two glowing reviews (from stagescenela and Mr Bruce Kimmel). Mr Kimmel also mentions the possibility of Beth taking part in future readings of a show he's been working on, The First Nudie Musical.
Also added an old Metroland review of Beth's performance in Bingo when it was staged in 2003 at the Adirondack Theatre Festival. Beth is set to star as Hope Springfield in MTG's production of Fade Out/Fade In (music by Jule Styne, book and lyrics by Betty Comden and Adolph Green) in LA for two nights only - 9 and 15 November 2009!
